| | | Of course numerous religions are based on the Bible... But the religions like to cherry pick from the Bible what they choose to believe in. And the Bible was written by various people, many with very wild imaginations... all of the creatures on earth were gathered onto onto a boat, because the "god of love" chose to kill all life, except for those who were lucky enough to board the boat, or had enough cash to pay for boarding ... one guy once living inside a whale, I guess he lit a candle while inside... Jesus rode on dinosaurs (well that's not in the bible but if the earth is only 5-10000 years old then)... you have the right to stone your daughter to death for sex out of wedlock... you should be put to death for eating certain foods... slavery is fine, just don't beat them too much
The part of the Bible that most so-called christians don't like to quote are those of the New Testament... where it's obvious Jesus is a flaming liberal (his mother gave him anger management classes after witnessing his father)... The white evangelicals, aka MAGAs, prefer the god of the Old Testament where the angry god who will smite you for any small error... Make god great again! bring on pestilence, floods, slavery, torture, stoning to death... scientists are witches and should be burned at the stake! |
