It's not a stretch to say that no Bernie would have meant no AOC, it is just wrong. As I keep saying, the Bernie support had little to do with Bernie and everything to do with the liberal wing of the party who picked Bernie. He did not woe them. They wanted Warren and she would not run. And I hear little talk among the liberals for Bernie this time.
| The liberal women now control the house and that will only increase for a long time. Their liberal social capitalism philosophy will shape the structure of our society beginning now and for a long time. And it has nothing to do with Bernie and everything to do with the liberals. And this is a long term mega trend. Teh human species is moving left with education. |
Bernie was picked over Hillary because he is solidly to the left of Hillary. The liberals, who are now in control of the Democratic party, wanted someone other than Hillary who took, with Bill, 240 million dollars in speaking fees, from Wall street, and books, over 15 years and liberals did not trust to go after Wall street and address income inequality with big tax hikes on the rich. She owed Wall street big time.
Those people were not the Clinton's paying $125,000 a speech to hear her words of wisdom, they were paying it for future influence, knowing she would run and probably win.
The party has been moving left for a long time and now is solidly in control of the liberals. AOC is not the only outspoken lefty just elected, and won't be the last, the house is full of them and most are women.
