There is absolutely no difference to the value of the stock whether Iomega split the stock or didn't split the stock before issuing stock options.

Think about it. The split is not dilutive. Dilution from the issuance of stock options is wholly dependent on the exercise price, whether it's above or below the market value at the time of exercise.

Nothing else is relevant to this argument. These be the facts.

As for the "extra" shares, every company has more shares issuable then they need for current plans. This is a non-issue.
