By trying to ram down my throat history and other things that were of no interest to me with threat of beating, I learned valuable lessons.

Such as the existence of dumb authoritarian collectivist thugs, the evils of socialism.

After I had escaped in young adulthood I then found plenty of interest in non STEM fields. I chose what to read. A list of English kings and dates and stupid stuff they did was not part of that. I could attend any lecture I liked and the university libraries were loaded with books.

In this particular case, eating the family cow and the goose that lays the golden eggs are like breaking windows to increase GDP, or worse, the hideous but common idea that wars are good for the economy. I prefer digging holes and filling them in again, which is at least good exercize and does no harm.

So I understand the point. But the Loony Liberal Left goes full scale deflection crazy because they are too dumb to understand STEM but think they are saving the world. They end up eating the family cow, golden goose, everything else, breaking all the windows, digging holes but not filling them in again, robbing everyone and going military MAD in mass murder.
