Although I condemn it, I understand why countries with autocratic rulers use censorship to stifle discussion. I’ll never understand how Dmitry figured it was a good strategy for a web site that depends for its success on discussion. Obviously, he wasn’t thinking clearly. It seems ego is the enemy of common sense.
