Very quick CC notes - 1/30/2019.

- Revenue was $302M vs. $300M a year ago, but that included a $20M recovery. So 8% top line growth, getting closer to their double digit goal. And all this amidst a trade war with China and slowing global growth. They said in the call that their decision to hold full year guidance despite the Q1 beat was due to the possibility of softness in China, though they haven't seen it yet. In fact, they stated "we haven't detected any major changes in the tone of the conversation and people's plans."

- They highlighted Dolby Cinema, consumer electronics and gaming as the reasons for the above expectations revenue number. For Dolby Cinema, they have more than 20 exhibitor partners with about 200 screens open and another 200 committed. They have 8 partners in China.

- They bought back a lot of stock in the quarter, I think that is part of their plan to use the overseas cash that was freed up by tax reform. They are under $200M in remaining buyback authorization, so while I didn't get the major capital allocation improvement I expected, we should see a new buyback later this year.

PS - My last update on Dolby Cinema was a year ago, as follows:

Dolby Cinema added 20 in Q1 for a total of 133. Total commitments at 360. They expect to add as many in 2018 as they did in 2017.

So they continued to add around 20 per quarter, and added 40 to the total commitment.
