Thanks for the heads up on AHT. I was able to buy AHT-F in the after-market at 9.06%. It's very handy to have after and pre market trading permissions. Would have taken the D issue but ask was $24.40. I didn't want to waste time trying for it when the F issue was available over 9%....bird in hand.
I've been searching for reasons for these moves but have come to believe it's a case of a seller needing or just wanting to sell. Perhaps a fund or ETF. Prices rose in the after market and aren't uniform across issues. The move in the common price looks normal for a down day in the DJI. It can be bought even now at $4.95....flat on the day......and volume was unexceptional, in line with the 90 days average. The common would reflect insider bad news first and hardest, not the pfds.
Among the pfds, G & H are up for the day and D, F, & I down. F was hit hardest, down -7% to 19.67 but gained to my buy price of $20.35 in the after market.
All this looks like a need or want based selling and not front running. The timing of big volume late in the day confirms that this isn't front running...imho. Pretty obvious if it is. Think even the SEC could figure that one.
There is also this....Vanguard filed a 13G for AHT at 3.52 PM today. It's for a mutual fund, VGSIX. I don't know what it means and would like to know if it's a buy, sell, or just notification of ownership in the issue. If someone knows, please post. Couldn't get a clear definition just by searching.................................Xot archive.fast-edgar.com |
