Re: Bought Tsakos TNP-C 8.875% coupon preferred @$24.95. Issue is past call and

SBLK operates bulk carriers not tankers and CPLP is spinning out its tankers, merging with a private company.
Mintzmeyer was not the only one to have misjudged CPLP, no one bats 1000.
I am also in the camp that believes CPLP will do well over the next year.

Currently, most of the retail shareholders do not understand the merger deal with Diamond S.
If they are only interested in income, they can simply sell the Diamond S stub (which will be happily scooped up by institutional investors) and re-invest the proceeds into CPLP. Yield will be similar to what it was six months ago.

Actually Mintzmeyer has a very good record, he avoided the vast majority of the flameouts.
Because he runs a paid service, the general user base is not privy to his up to date calls.
Since he only covers the shipping sector, all of the individual stocks in his family's portfolio are shipping companies.

The shipping sector is always a minefield and always treacherous.
