Apocalyptic political jabber certainly doesn't help humans become better stewards of the planet. AOC is just a 29 year old idealist, unmuddied by physical and scientific realities. She's a pure political machine. Unfortunately for her, we have a lot of actual, thinking people in the US, who find apocalyptic talk to be naive. What I prefer to talk about is why it is important, regardless of where you stand on climate change and whether humans are the main root cause or not, doesn't it still make sense to be good stewards of the only planet humans have to live on right now? I am all for that. Keep our oceans and rivers clean. Keep our air clean. Keep our water supplies clean. Keep our food clean. These things to me are common sense. If anyone argues against those things, I think the other 99% of us should point out to that person that he/she is an idiot.
