That is incorrect in the early classic wave writings.

In expanded flats and running flats, B is expected to exceed a in length and there is no
set limit. Prechter's site says, when discussing running flats: "Wave B of the 3-3-5 pattern terminates substantially beyond the starting level of wave A as in an expanded flat". *
