BTW, I had been meaning to ask if you remember the case in Contra Costa County, some time back, in which an 8-year-old child who had leukemia did not want to undergo further chemotherapy, and his mother withdrew him from the treatments. The hospital contacted Social Services, and the child was put into foster care and forced to continue the chemotherapy against his will. It should also be noted that the chemotherapy had done nothing to the leukemia but did make the child extremely ill (as is a usual side-effect of chemotherapy). Eventually, the child was taken off the chemotherapy and returned to his mother. I believe the child has since died.

I would like to know what you think, if anything, of this instance of government intervention.

In fact, I'm putting it out for grabs I'd like to know what anyones thoughts on this are.
