Spindr, Interactive Brokers has a software problem (aka bug) where the after hour bid/ask prices are “stale” on some issues. They no longer represent the actual NBBO bid/ask prices that are in effect. I have not taken the time to quantify exactly when/why/how this occurs, but IIRC I see it every single day when I look closely at some tickers. Some issues are accurate and some are not. The stale bid/ask prices appear to be holdovers from the regular trading hours.

There are two ways to get up to date bid/ask prices in these cases:

1) 1) Check prices on a different brokerage to see if you want to enter./change an IB order

2) 2) Enter or change an IB buy/sell order that is set for after hours trading.

Bottom line is that your order might not have been filled because the bid/ask displayed at IB was not real at that point in time.
