more rhetorical confusion, fitting for darkness:

--An insurgency is the Mau Mau in Kenya, the Tamil in Sri Lanka, the Viet Cong in Vietnam, the Sendero Luminoso in Peru the FARC in Colombia.

A Revolution is Russia in 1917 and China in 1949. What took place in the US was closer to a revolt than a revolution. The French had a revolution but what took place in Russia pretty much defined the meaning for the last 100 years.

A coup is Pinochet in Chile 1973, Indonesia in 1965, Brazil in 1964 [Venezuela during darkness?]. Guatemala and Iran were more comic opera compared to Indonesia or Argentina . If there are no masses of dead bodies it is theater.

A revolt is a failed revolution, often manipulated by some existing pillar of power in order to see who their enemies are, often infiltrated or compromised by the existing secret police.

An insurgency is what ended colonialism in a country.

A revolution is what ended monarchy in the home country.--
