Del,

Actually, my family history is something of a mixed bag, but most have been long lived and healthfully so. I will grudgingly admit that most of the nonsmokers in my family lived into their 90s and 100s, but all of these good folk lived in smoking households for most of their lives. I do believe that heredity is just about everything, and that what we take into our bodies in the way of food and pollutants is just about the rest of it (my opinion only). I believe also that "stress," the buzzword of the 1990s, should be avoided at all costs.

I have been a vegetarian for most of my life, largely because grains and plants taste good to me and I prefer them to meat. I also hold a deep love and respect for animals. I am not evangelical about it but do find it unthinkable to eat them. I guess you could say that I am getting my antioxidants by default. <vbg>

Yes, if Grandfather were alive today I am sure he would be surfing the Net with great enthusiasm and preaching the marvels of the Internet to all his cronies. I think that that is another factor in longevity: never losing the childlike curiosity that motivates one to keep learning new things while maintaining flexibility in ones thinking processes.

BTW, when do you have your surgery?

Holly
