If you read the article you'd know that it wasn't really about cold vs flu. The real point of the article was that loss of appetite and similar symptoms are actually beneficial defense mechanisms. And their research managed to show it rather than relying on folks tale.

And regardless of how good your immune system is, everyone eventually gets sick.
