It is my hope that the families of the three employees killed outside of Field BC ,hire a top Canadian law firm and sue CP management from the top down for the tragic and senseless accident that occurred several days ago.
I would gladly help fund a law suit even if it took years ,,to put a stop to the reckless, ruthless management that is the legacy of Hunter Harrison.
Changing crews on a steep grade is the same as Air Canada management demanding that their pilots land a 737 on a 3000 foot runway,, was nothing learned at all from the tragedy of Lac Megantic were 47 were killed?
Astronaut Garneau, starts crowing about hand brakes,,
astronaut Garneau has probably never tied a hand brake on in his life and does not know that it would take probably 40 or more to hold that train on that grade,, why there?? because management had to get every last minute out of the initial crew.. there were better spots for change off before ,,! how about a siding, with no grade?? Or an area with little grade and a road crossing.
Would a derail set to derailing position , as an added assurance of safety, in front of Lac Megantic train saved 47 lives?? Yes!
Could derails be installed on selected sidings where crews “”might “”be changed off? Yes!
CP management needs to change the modern day culture of disrespecting its employees brought on by Harrison,,and these senseless tragedies would fade into the past. |
