I love border collies. My former next-door neighbors when I lived in the city had two of them, One loved me and the other just barked at me. Whenever the one border collie saw me she would be ecstatic ( heck no people are ever that happy to see me!) She'd run into my garage when i was out side and always came to visit when she saw me. That seemed to irritate one of the guys who owned the dog.

So one day I was out throwing trash in the dumpster in the alley and my neighbors lets out the Border Collie's. I am coming through the gate and the BC that always greets me runs up with her hackles raised and growling like "don't you come in here" ( It was the common ground behind all the garages.). So I say to her "It's just me girl!"

Her tail goes between her legs, she looks downcast and seems embarrassed that she growled at me. So I bend over and pet her and tell her "It's alright!" figuring she thought I was an invader. Meanwhile the neighbor is screaming for his dog to come inside and she then runs into their garage. Before I realize what is happening, she comes bounding out again and runs up to me, jumps up and licks me one the face. Almost like she was saying "I/m sorry and am happy you are not mad at me."

I really miss that dog but my former neighbors not so much.
