Keith, Years ago there was a company who had the right to co-market any version of DOS/Winodws and successor products. The owner was an absolute fool, and went broke, MSFT bought the residual assets at auction. yet he could have made billions riding on the MSFT coattails.
Bad marketing was it. He had the right to sell DOS with hardware, and he failed to see that integration would make motherboards worth under $100.

Kildall was a sad story, some still believe in the hit theory. I wonder if there is any way for an OS to make way against Win etc. OS-2 looked like it had the potential, but the usual IBM need to screw you killed it at an early stage. Later when they tried to make up for lost time it was too late. Do they still have any agreements with MSFT?, or is there so much divergence now as not to matter.?
