FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 1998--

New Industry-Leading Low Prices on MPEG Devices to Open Up
Opportunities for Consumers and
Distribution Channels

Dazzle Multimedia (formerly LA Vision) the leading provider of
affordable personal video computing products today announced that it
has reduced the price of Dazzle, the company's popular video capture,
editing and communication device, from $299 to $199.
Dazzle now becomes the first MPEG personal video computing
product available under $200. As recently as a year ago, MPEG standard
video products were sold for $5,000.
In addition to the price reduction, the company announced that it
has added additional features and refined the software bundle included
with Dazzle to reflect customer feedback and demand. In addition to
the easy to use five-button interface called Amigo, Dazzle comes with
full product versions of Kai's Power Goo, Adobe PhotoDeluxe 2.0, VDO
Phone, Cinax MPEG Video Editor, Interactual Screen Saver, and
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0.
By using Dazzle with these applications, users can edit full
motion video and still images captured from a camcorder, VCR, TV,
laserdisc or DVD player, create flyers, cards, and other multimedia
projects, morph still images taken from video, and create screen
savers using their own movies. They can post video or still images
onto a web site, attach them to e-mail messages and video conference
via the Internet.
This version of the product includes new audio-only recording and
playback features which allow for up to eight hours of CD quality
audio to be recorded on only one CD for playback on a PC. As with the
previous version of Dazzle, captured video clips can also be
incorporated into many other Windows-based applications, including
Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
Both Dazzle and Snazzi, the company's PCI board product, are
based on the MPEG-1 industry standard which allows the highest quality
full motion video to be captured, edited and placed into popular
Windows applications in seconds.
"The digital video market is growing at a tremendous pace and
Dazzle Multimedia is uniquely positioned to lead this market from a
technology, product and partnership perspective," said David Taylor,
president of Dazzle Multimedia.
"We're beginning to see interest from a huge number of camcorder
owners. They're excited about the possibility of taking their home
videos and put them to work on their PCs. By lowering Dazzle's price,
it truly opens up the world of video capture, editing and
communication to anyone that sees creative opportunities in the home
movies they love."

About Dazzle and Snazzi

With Dazzle or Snazzi, users can capture high resolution
snapshots and CD quality audio and video and place these pictures and
movies in their favorite entertainment and business applications.
Dazzle is an easy to install 5.25" x 3" external adapter that
snaps directly onto a computer's parallel port in seconds. Snazzi is a
PCI add-in card. Both products use a friendly five button on-screen
software control panel that's easier to use than the typical TV remote
control. Users can preview and see recorded images instantly. Dazzle
has a suggested retail price of $199 and Snazzi's suggested retail
price is $399.
