Burt, The potential for the DOC 2000 is huge (IMHO). There are competitors in this market : Sandisk for one (but their product isn't as good as the DOC for this market, it's better for digital cameras but not in this case). Intel could also try to sell their flash products (but these use FLSHF's software, and so we'll get some sort of revenue as well).
Dov really believes that the DOC is the best product on the market, and he says that its getting great responses from many board manufacturers. He believes that the DOC is M-Systems' future - and it will push the company forward in the next decade.
Now, they need to convince large OEM's to use the DOC in their products (companies like TCI for example) - that's Chuck's job, and I understand he's quite good at it (his history with Sony). Let's hope he's successful, because if that will be the case the stock will really start moving.
Regarding profitability - those are my numbers and not Dov's, he can't comment on company's results. But I'm quite confident we'll see profits in Q1 or at least in Q2 this year.
The contracts with Micro Sova and The U.S. telecom company are still going forward and are on schedule, but most revenues will come later this year and so I'll have better info regarding the progress of these deals in a couple of months.

Best,
Omer
