Plans to enhance shareholder value are a legitimate topic for company/shareholder discussions particularly when there is a powerful shareholder group involved. But ACMI has a move that they have just announced so that needs to be discussed now.

This move certainly can be seen as part of a plan to enhance shareholder value.....they probably wouldn't do it if they thought it would be disadvantageous to shareholders.

But a discussion of their entire plan is in order but probably not right now. It might have made sense to have that discussion before they decided on this carve out. But they probably wouldn't have entertained such a discussion then.

If this move is received well by the investment community, I doubt that we will be worrying about stock buybacks. There will be plenty of takers for this cheap stock. If the move is not well received then we have a long wait to see if the plan proves out operationally.

The first description of this plan didn't thrill me as you know. As more details are released, the plan might seem more attractive and that would be great. There may even be time yet for ACMI to modify the plan in certain ways to make it not only appear better but actually be better particularly in terms of how it will operate re selling effort etc. The conference call is an opportunity to learn more about the plan and raise questions which will help management both explain the plan and where appropriate refine it.

KEY TO THE SITUATION

The three analysts recommending this stock will shortly announce what they think of this plan. It matters what they think. The questions raised on this board are questions that I think the analysts will also raise so ACMI by reading this board and getting your email will be better able to prepare themselves for this critical teleconference.
I will be very surprised if the analysts do not address the question of the value of the assets contributed versus the share in the JV retained by ACMI.
