Everyone knew that "Separate but equal" was a farce yet it took until 1954 for the SC to say so. And another 10 years to get a Civil Rights Act and 11 years to get a Voting Rights Act that put some teeth into the decision. And we are still dealing with the ramifications, people are still pushing back. We know what the problems are. It is really really hard to deal with these structural issues. FDR and LBJ did the most of any presidents and they were often stymied. AOC and her people came running in and shreiking, "Oh look at all the injustice!" as though no one had ever seen it before, lol.

She and her young friends can shriek and put out ridiculous bills and feel good about themselves while they provoke a backlash among voters or they can work with and learn from a pro like Nancy and get something real done in the ripeness of time. Her choice.
