The most significant part of the release IMO is the statement "Novellus said backlog on Dec. 31, 1997, rose 43% to $224 million, from $156.4 million a year earlier." That is a 43% increase - someone is buying this stuff.

After the next few weeks we will have a much clearer indication of how much Asia will impact FSII and other technology companies.

My take is that things will not meltdown (they won't overheat, either :)) and the non-inflationary environment will be very good for undervalued small and mid cap growth stocks. Maybe I'm dreaming, but my twisted reasoning is at: members.aol.com

Also, to go with the "dog" article a few weeks ago I've got another "for what it's worth": LED's to make a big splash in traffic signals? If you think about it, not a bad idea to conserve energy, assuming they get the colors right :) members.aol.com

Best - Joe
