Thank you for posting that, Steve. Trump is right about this. When Europe imposes 25% tariffs on US cars imported into their countries and the US only imposes around 5% tariffs, then that imbalance is called a wealth transfer from the US to Europe. This is what Socialists don't understand. When we have trade deals where one or more countries are imposing larger tariffs on the US than we impose on them, then that trade imbalance is a subsidy from the US to their countries. Well, the US has a $22 trillion debt after decades of this non-sense. Trump is right to call our trade imbalances a national security threat. You know why? If the US is not economically strong, then we cannot pay for the monstrosity of the US Military Industrial Complex we fund to the tune of $1 trillion per year to police the world. Now, I agree with Trump's position on this, but I would also massively reduce our presence around the world, I would not police the world, and I would reduce that $1 trillion a year by half. But that's why I'm not President. The MIC would never let me get as far as getting on a ballot, because I'm too much of a pacifist and like to focus more on important things like economic development and bilateral trade.

Anyway, your comment on Huawei is spot on. Huawei is just the tip of the spear for China's predatory business practices. If Trump caves on China and lets Huawei continue, then Trump is going to lose a lot of my support. This is one the biggest issues the US faces. I honestly think that China is the biggest threat in the world. Their vision of totalitarianism enabled by all the latest technologies is truly Orwellian. It's not just a vision, but rather, they have implemented it. It's downright scary. The more influence they have over the world, the more this totalitarianism will take over the West. Russia is a maggot and not worthy of our attention. China is the true threat. So while the Socialists are sowing division and civil war and engaged in a soft coup attempt...in other words, while Rome is burning...the Barbarians are at the gate and they are the descendants of the Mongol hordes. China is stealing and eating everyone's lunch now.
