When do the 2019 NBA playoffs start? • The NBA regular season ends Wednesday April 10. The playoffs start three days later on Saturday April 13. All first games of the 8 first round matchups will be played either April 13 or 14. • The Conference semi-finals games will start Monday, April 29 and Tuesday, April 30 (possibly moved up to April 27 and 28). • The Conference final games will start Tuesday, May 14 and Wednesday, May 15 (possibly moved up to May 12 and May 13). • The NBA finals start Thursday, May 30, 2019. 2.) How many teams make the playoff? • Sixteen of the 30 league teams make the playoffs, eight teams with the best record regardless of division from each of the two conferences.
