TPP was a bad idea and continues to be for the US, because it was basically a giant subsidy from the US to the rest of the world. If you know anything about economics, then you should understand how to maximize revenues through marginal pricing. One size fits all deals do not maximize revenue. The same goes for trade deals. One size fits all deals usually benefit the smallest players at the expense of the largest. Call it socialism for everyone else and subsidies from the US. TPP was exactly that. Trump was right to pull out. Businessmen get this instinctively. Evidently, you do not.

Oh and btw, I was against the Paris Accords for the same reason. As you know, I have for a long time been in the camp of people who say we need to be good stewards of our planet, including reducing pollution. But I was against the Paris Accords, because their goals were too modest and really it just ended up being a giant subsidy from the US to the other countries in the Accord. It would have ended up costs the US trillions over the life of that accord.

That's what's wrong with all these massive one size fits all trade deals. They are thinly disguised efforts to steal money from the US and give to everyone else. It's global Socialism by another name. Thank God Trump got us out of both of those deals.
