December's close vote favored an approach supported by Sweden's L.M. Ericsson Telephone Co., Finland's Nokia Corp. and Japan's NTT DoCoMo Corp.

Hello Dauntless. I don't acknowledge the temerity of this article for the big reason typed below.

Really, NTT DoCoMo has already been decided?? Well that is news. Is there an e-mail address of the author so I can get the confirmation on this breaking bit of news?? I seem to recall that there are more companies involved in the Japan's 3G other than Ericsson and Nokia?? Seems there are these companies like LU, MOT and a couple of Japanese heavy hitters like Toshiba, NEC, Hitachi among others involved. I also seem to recall that NTT stated that whatever is settled on will be backwards capatible. For that matter, Lucent is readying their 3G based on CDMAone to Japan very soon. Someone better tell them not to bother!!

If you could, I like an e-mail address to write this individual to find out what his/her soucre of info is. Bet it was Ericsson.
