Have to disagree. Rand had a far better understanding of statism and socialism. Overall, she was - and remains - far more influential in the West. There were always controversies about Solzhenitsyn, including the attempt to make peace with the Soviet regime - and to "improve" it - that she mentions. His Gulag Archipelago has great historical value - but she's right, many people wrote about that. Rand isn't always easy to read, but his style can be pretty stiff as well. With her, you get more for the effort. And... Slavophiles have never done much good for anyone, least of all for the Slavs.
