Here is a typical Lyme story. It is sad and tragic.

I still come back to back when the original Lyme committee of the IDSA was developing the first treatment guidelines (issued in 2000). They booted out Sam Donata (an IDSA MD in Boston) & the Chair of the committee resigned (over the treatment of Donata, not that he agreed with him) so they would have unanimous approval of the guidelines (this booting was lead by Gary Wormser, a story for another time).

These guidelines have created a lot of heartache.
