I need your vote to be moderator of this thread. I just spoke to SI Ron and he asked that I put the vote to the thread before he will make me moderator. If you agree with me being the new moderator, then Recommend this post. As you know, I tend to have a high tolerance for a lot of debate and I give people a lot of chances before I put anyone on Ignore or Ban. I almost never Ignore or Ban someone for opinions, but I do have a lower tolerance for posters who focus on vitriol and invective and offer nothing substantive like opinions, debate, facts, etc. So you know me. That should be enough for you to decide if I should be moderator.
If you disagree with having me as moderator and have an alternative person in mind, you can respond to this post and say that you disagree and nominate someone else to moderate the thread. Then that nominated person can get Recommends for his/her post. In this way, we have some semblance of a Democratic process that SI Ron can assess.
Just FYI...Duncan Baird, the current moderator, has not made any SI posts since 1998 and is not an active member, which is why I requested to SI Ron to make me the moderator instead. If you prefer not having ANY moderator, then we can leave it as is, but you'll need to reply to this post suggesting that and then get the most number of Recommends for that option.
Feel free to link this post and send it to other people who may want to have a say on this issue. SI Ron will let the vote go on for a few days, so maybe by this weekend, we can close the vote and get a new moderator.
