Good Lord, yes! It turns out Bill Clinton was far more to the right of the liberals we see today. At least he believed in Capitalism and would negotiate with Republicans. I never voted for him, but I did like his personality and some of his speeches, and he had a great sense of humor. He was our first black President, after all. LOL. This new crop doesn't negotiate, silences the right, has zero sense of humor, are full of hatred, and are thoroughbred Socialists. There were a lot of policy ideas, including his ideas on healthcare, that I didn't like about Bill, but at least he and the Republican Congress managed the economy pretty well.
As to the philandering all these Presidents do, I've never really understood why that kind of stuff becomes such a big political issue. Americans have such massive hang ups about sex. The funny thing is when we start having women for President. They are going to have some of their own philandering and then everyone will start to realize men and women really are the same. When women are in power, they do the same things men do. Men don't have a monopoly on that kind of thing, although we are all trained to believe that's the case. Really it's all about wealth and power differentials. |
