The presumption is that would never happen to a Dem.
The Democrats ALWAYS presume this.

That's why when Senator Harry Reid invoked the "nuclear option" and got rid of the filibuster for judicial nominees, they never expected to be in the minority. Hence when the oh-so-hated Brett Kavanaugh came around, they were stuck without a paddle and had to resort to severe character assassination.

And even then, they once again presumed that they would never have to defend anyone on their side who was accused of sexual assault. Lo and behold, look at what's happening in Virginia. What goes around comes around.

The only way the Democrats can live with themselves is by practicing double-standards, because without them, they would have no standards.
