I don't believe the debt shown is accurate. His financial statements aren't published for shareholders. So he is free to show what he wants subject only to banking fraud. Only if those statements are used in a debt application would he have to worry. In particular, the ratio of debt to assets is extremely low for a real estate company. Some years ago Deutsche Bank said he was worth a few hundred million. Much more believable.
