<<Unfortunately, your fills might be 1/8 or 1/4 worse than you would expect.>>

When you place an order, is it a limit order or a market order? For example, let's say the market is 25 1/4 bid and 25 5/16 offered. The volume is looking very strong on the bid side. I place a SOES order to buy 1000 shares at 25 5/16. If the market is about to move (within 30 seconds) to 25 3/8 offered am I possibly going to get a confirmation back that I actually bought at 25 3/8 instead of my intended 25 5/16?

I thought a SOES trader had the ability to control these things and get a true fill. Isn't that the reason the SOES system was put in place in 1985?

Is SOES trading simply placing market orders (then praying that I get the price that is shown on the screen) or am I hitting the bid and offer of a market maker at a specific price? Also, I thought that it was possible thru SOES trading to get filled between the bid and offer of the offical market makers.

Any clarification by traders would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jay
