I think the first Star Wars movie was the best of the bunch. Here's my test: If I was in the mood to watch one, and all 10 of them were on 10 different channels simultaneously the one I'd pick over the others would be the first one, largely because it was the easiest one to remember afterwards.

Whereas I can't recall the plots of the recent ones like The Force Awakens - except they made the female the hero. I don't call her a heroine because, in keeping with the producers leftist agenda, they go out of their way to make her supplant the males. IOW, she's a he without the cross-dressing.

The first one had a great villain, and a great threat to overcome (the Death Star). It was meant to be fun. Lucas wanted to make a homage to the old Flash Gordon movies and he pulled it off. The next two were also good, and necessary to defeat the villain(s) - one by redemption and one by execution. So, they kept the feeling of the homage, but still not as well as the first IMO.
