TUCSON, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 1998--RightFAX Inc., a subsidiary of Applied Voice Technology Inc., (NASDAQ:AVTC) and the leading developer of advanced fax server software, Monday announced the release of a new Service Pack.
This Service Pack includes the newest Dialogic GammaLink communication drivers, making RightFAX Inc. the first fax server company to incorporate the latest Dialogic fax technology.
RightFAX Inc. is the first fax server company to release support for the new GammaLink PCI bus interface. Dialogic's PCI fax boards address the increasing demand for PCI-based messaging hardware by major PC manufacturers. In addition to the PCI fax boards, GammaLink is releasing a new set of drivers that support all GammaLink fax boards.
The latest GammaLink drivers, GDK 3.0, are specifically engineered for the Microsoft Windows NT platform. These new drivers offer increased performance, lower overhead, and easier configuration. The GDK 3.0 also provides unified firmware for both domestic and international use.
"RightFAX and Dialogic have a long history of working together to bring superior fax products to market quickly. We have both vigorously tested the GammaLink GDK 3.0 drivers as part of our continuing commitment to provide customers with the latest technologies," said John E. Taylor, general manager of the GammaLink Business Unit of Dialogic Corp.
RightFAX's new Service Pack provides enhanced support for international customers. RightFAX Inc. has fine-tuned its configuration to make it easier to install and configure international boards.
This international support includes ISDN BRI services, which are widely used in Europe. GammaLink's new drivers will support international BRI boards. The Service Pack also enables RightFAX software to work with the new Brooktrout international and domestic BRI boards, as well as Brooktrout's new 12-port ISA fax card.
This Service Pack is available for free to all existing RightFAX version 5.0 server customers. Users and resellers can download Service Pack 2 from RightFax's web site at rightfax.com .
