Ron didn't nullify the vote.

At worst, he wasn't clear at the start in stating what percentage of the vote was necessary to win the vote.

Clearly, and understandably, for such a high volume board with such a sharply divided constituency, a simple majority of 50%+1 wasn't enough to install yet another FatRump puppet as SI moderator, considering the number of votes cast by people who don't regularly post here (they're illegal aliens, right?)

Maybe a "veto-proof majority of 67%" would have been enough, but we don't know because you didn't get 67%.

At any rate, I wasn't proposing another election, I was thinking of asking Ron to just appoint me as moderator, based on our longstanding relationship of mutual trust and admiration.

I was particularly honored by his posting the exact same thing I had posted here during the election, proving we are both on the same page with regards to the administration of political boards on SI:

You say you "won't tolerate clear evidence of liberal bias by social media" but your participation on boards where liberals are banned demonstrates you willingly tolerate clear evidence of conservative bias by social media.

As a side note, regarding Google, I think you can probably do a better job of staying away from them and their services. What parts of Google have you been unable to avoid?
