Ramifications of early Voodoo 2 release

Voodoo 2 is apparently in production and shipment, and therefore no longer in development. Unfortunately, I couldn't get IR to confirm this for me. However, here is the scenario I see based on a mix what I know along with some conjecture:

With Voodoo 2 being shipped now, the overall impact on 1Q98 revenues should be higher than if the chipsets were shipping later in the quarter. (I actually thought they'd be out around mid-February, and never expected them to ship so early in the quarter, )

Banshee project development staff should ramp up. I would expect this influence from both Voodoo 2 staff who were scheduled to transfer to Banshee after Voodoo 2 completion, as well as the return of those people pulled off Banshee to accelerate Voodoo 2.

With Banshee development back at full force, I'd expect that management could start negotiating OEM deals sooner. (This observation is pure speculation on my part, but not altogether unlikely).

Just some ideas on how things could be playing out. Any other thoughts? Agree? Disagree?
