That's exactly why the internet is heavily censored in China. There are delicate sensibilities there.

Oswaldo does share many of my critical views of China's communist economy and companies like Huawei which are owned by the People's Liberation Army. You share many of Jay's China-centric views. People have different views. You and I share many critical opinions about the US and Canada, and our shared critical opinions shock and offend others - louel for one.

I had a roommate in the dorms at UC Berkeley from Teheran. Shortly after he arrived, a popular US magazine had a very unflattering portrait of the Shah Reza Pahlavi of Iran on the cover done in the style of 'Dorian Grey' as if this hidden painting was decomposing in response to the Shah's bad behavior.

Hamid was shocked. In private he laughed so hard he cried. He bought a copy of the magazine but told me no one could know he had it and he hid it under his bed.

That's state-directed political correctness.

Around the same time Barbara Walters interviewed the Shah and his wife and asked about the political prisoners his regime was torturing. The Shah's wife began to cry and the Shah terminated the interview.

The president of Venezuela did the same a couple of days ago in response to questions from news personality Jorge Ramos.
