Bredan,

For the media, Clik is probably more durable than flash card but a flash controller chip is more than 100 times more reliable than the miniature Clik drive even though the die size is 10 times smaller than a running motor and a moving r/w head. Clik drive can go vanilla without dropping but the flash memory mechasim rarely fail. When you drop your desktop on floor, you have greater than 50% chance to total your HDD but that doesn't imply that your computer will be safe if it will never drop on floor. Your HDD is still the most fragile parts which can bring down your whole computer. OTOH, how often will the memory bring down the computer?

Joon,

Your message does has some good points but the biggest problem of digital camera is the quality and efficiency. We need a faster processor to instantly convert the analog CCD or CMOS signals to jpeg format. Space is another problem but will be solved soon by either large capcity flash card or Clik. Flash Memory's price will drop rapidly as demand increase, soon it can be bought for less than $10/meg (now is $20+/meg) and it is reusable. Significant improvement over the one-time-use film. Each 1024x768 jpeg pic will takes around 150K to 300k so a 8Meg card addon should good for around 30pics. Clik of course will have plenty of space for almost 200 pics but it has some implementation problems and reliability concerns.
