Sometimes the peer review can come from anonymous reviewers who use the anonymity to indulge unreasonable biases.

An author can get caught, also, between readers who have violently opposing viewpoints.

So nothing is ideal.

Such as, for example, the fact that I am cut off right now from all my servers by some accident to the physical network--a cut cable somewhere--but was able to get through here on a backup AOL account.

But all my e-mail is kaput for the time being.
