John Stossel already debunked a similar myth about Sweden:



Although the Nordic countries do have a bigger welfare state, they are in many ways more capitalist than America.

Plus they have less "progressive" taxes. Everyone has skin in the game. Even the lowest income earners pay a substantial portion of their wages in taxes.

Finally, anyone who thinks socialism becomes "great" only when you put the word "democratic" in front of it is fooling himself. Socialism as about as "democratic" as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
