A while back, I was thoroughly trounced by the fine folk on the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier listserv for suggesting that we try to find another word for female dogs. All I meant was that the word for female dogs is harsh-sounding and that I would prefer something more lilting and melodious. No matter how I try, I seem to constantly find myself at the center of controversy. <vbg>

I've been trying to get myself over to put in my two cents at the "Grammar" thread, but all I seem to do is lurk there. Surprisingly, no one has mentioned my two pet grammar peeves, and they're so prevalent and obvious.
