Wharfie, please stop while you're behind.

1) You claimed that California bans the sales of new cars that don't meet a minimum MPG. But that's false.

2) You then brought up CAFE, which only measures average fuel economy over the entire fleet of new cars sold by a maker. Even then, the penalties for missing the standard amount to nothing more than fines.

3) Even then, CAFE has different standards for cars vs. light trucks, and even these two categories are subdivided into different sizes. There is no incentive for car makers to prioritize sales of cars over SUVs, for example.

4) Finally, CAFE is a federal standard. California is supposed to be leading the way toward a carbon-free future. Yet the politicians in Sacramento, as crazy as they are, still don't have the heart to force Californians to sleep in the bed that they make.

As usual, you put forth nothing but snarky responses to avoid having to defend an indefensible position.
