It's interesting how much effect that an analyst rating change can have on a stock. I was just looking back at a previous buy rating from Cleveland Research on MU. A buy rating came out in September of 2017 with the expectations that MU would earn $7 per share in 2018:

As most of you who follow MU closer than I do know the stock earnings were actually quite a bit better. Before today I had never even heard of Cleveland Research.

The market had/has come a long way since the late December bottom. My point is that in the absence of actual news analysts make their own. Fear causes stocks to drop in the absence of positive news.

I learned a long time ago not to marry a stock. MU like any other stock should be traded.

Buy low and sell higher.

MU does not pay a dividend. I think they should establish a dividend if they want to attract more buy and hold investors.

But even if you buy a stock with a relatively high paying dividend it is important to buy low and sell higher at some point because no dividend is safe forever. No future for any company and its stock is assured to lead to endless profits.

If anyone wants to be successful as an investor then taking profits, and setting it aside, to buy stocks when there is real blood in the streets is the most important thing you can do.

I will get off my soapbox.
