I know what ALex means though. In a contest for females, in our society, wealth attracts female mates just as well as strenth, or good looks. When you look at the animal kingdom it is the healthy mature males (but not the aged males) who have the big harems. Females look for strength, health, and dominance. When you look at human males, some celebrity dads in their 70's and 80's come to mind, and one can see these principles may not rule our conduct. Do you think these men could attract women to breed with if it weren't for money? Not highly likely.
