Bill, you need to emphasize one thing According to your URL: <<Lucent expects to begin shipping sample chip sets incorporating this technology in the third quarter of 1998.>> We also know that no one (ADI came close) has been able to deliver their chips on schedule. In most cases, it has been embarrassing late. So I realistically won't expect the chip to sample until 1999 and then a G.Lite modem still won't ship until at least Q2 1999. Actually, the whole thing is still so far out into the future that I can't even take the announcement seriously; it sounds more like Marketing attempting to play defense. Same sort of thing that we keep hearing from the Motorola CopperGold Marketing dept. The important thing is that it is well past Christmas 98. Right now, Aware has a big lead on everybody else in G.Lite. This is a significant window of opportunity to establish a substantial beachhead within the PC community. This doesn't mean that they will quickly control this market (their opponents are much larger and have far greater resources), but I think that they have a unique opportunity to grab a large initial market share. The bigger question is whether they can hold onto for the long-term. Kind of like Netscape vs. MS Explorer
