One of the simplest, yet most revealing indicators of failure in a person is the inability of one to accept responsibility for his/her blunders, and seek to get out of it by ascribing blame to someone else. This often comes in the form of an outright attack on another party instead of a defense. The motivation is to kill the link with any and every kind of shame.
