This is quite different from the concerns we had about many, many statements from

Trump.

It does not seem that Pence is lying, given that he likely exhibits a consistency with his position. He has a steadfast position and he tries to justify it.

Now, is it a false statement? How can we decide? If A = "evolution is true" and B = "creation is true" and
there is no way to give a undeniable proof of either A or B, then you will always have one group for A and another group for B, as long as there is some "profit" (loosely defined) associated with each. Not A does not imply B, and not B does not imply A. But people act as if they do.

For myself, I know why Pence misunderstands B. This is an error which permeates all religions west of the Suez. The problem has to do with mistaking metaphor for fact, and thus looking at myth (important instruction) at an intellectual level and not at a spiritual level. Regardless of what A is, B is a metaphor. Every religion has it's own version of it, but some know how to read the metaphor. These are religions which (a) do not throw a holy book at you, and (b) do not try to pull you into the religion to "save" you.

So, in brief, no. :)

I am still learning these things. Slowly.
