The autopilot on the Air France Airbus from Brazil disengaged fully when it received conflicting air-speed readings from the pitot tubes. The pilots still couldn't figure out in time what the problem was, but that was the correct design.

If this Boeing 737 Max8 crash is the same problem as with the Lion Air, the auto-pilot doesn't fully disengage when anomalous readings are received from sensors - which is a really stupid design, so Boeing is rewriting the software.

But it could be something else as eyewitness accounts report smoke and papers coming from the rear of the plane and making loud grinding noises before it crashed - which would all suggest an in flight break-up. An in flight breakup would be virtually impossible to do only with speed and maneuvering unless there's a serious problem with the composite material.

Trump has offered Boeing his design advice, because "it's so easy" just like having Mexico pay for a wall.


Trump could also remind Boeing to include locked doors built into the wall so the Border Patrol can escort people on the south side of the wall to the north to boost their arrest statistics.
